Reason 1: The flow of water to the heater has reduced. Solution: Servicing on the pump or on the filter will fix this issue. Reason 2: Plugging of the exchanger. Apr 19, 2015. #16. I am having a problem with my MasterTemp 400 heater. I went to turn it on today to heat the pool a little. The "pool on" light came on and the temperature display says 75 but the heater/blower did not start. Now, when I press the "heater off" button, nothing happens (the pool on and temperature display lights stay on).The heater function might not be enabled for spa under the heater. Go to advanced system setting then installation setup then heaters. Make sure affiliated body is pool/spa. Your heater has no idea if it’s heating a pool, spa, bathtub or fish pond. “Spa on” and “Pool on” are just 2 different temperature settings.Used this to replace a 10 yr old Pentair Mastertemp 400 control board that was failing. Solved the issue, easy to install. Information was not clear that it also included the keypad. Could have used more instructions for older systems especially when the Pentair control center is turning the heater on/off.
Replaced Pentair unit that came with heater, 3 years old.
