Nov 26, 2018 · Yesterday we had received 3 inches of heavy, very wet snow which clogged my model 49 blower instantly. After installing a rubber flap on only one auger (using self-tapping screws) and trimming it a couple times, I went back out and tried again. Due to the moisture content of the snow, the blower was a virtual slush pump. They were pretty solid ice chunks and corn snow (ice pellets, slush, and melt) and extreme blowing conditions. The 54 ate it all just fine. The plastic impeller worked fine and I inspected it before and after: no marks. The are pretty stout looking and tend to flex versus bend/break like the metal ones of old.
