Brompheniramine and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine used to treat symptoms of the common cold or seasonal allergies, including sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, and itchy, watery eyes.Brompheniramine maleate is a histamine antagonist, specifically an H 1 -receptor-blocking agent belonging to the alkylamine class of antihistamines. Antihistamines appear to compete with histamine for receptor sites on effector cells. Brompheniramine also has anticholinergic (drying) and sedative effects.Taking too much of this drug or taking it by accident can cause hallucinations, seizures, and death. This can happen especially in infants and small children. Keep this drug away from children. If too much of this drug is taken or if it is taken by accident, call the poison control center and get medical care right away.
