It's a great weapon, yes, the Fang is awesome -- good balance between speed and reach, great stagger power for both bosses, armored knights, and shielded enemies, and its unique trait to be buffed despite having a unique Somber ability. Early NG you can get your hands on somber stone upgrades sooner than regular smithing ...If you want to use a second curved greatsword in your off hand I’d recommend the Bloodhound’s Fang instead of a second MCS. Gets better AR which is all that matters since you won’t be using it’s skill. Although having another very strong and unique skill like the one it has would give your build some more versatility as well.
